The shawshank redemption: the best movie ever

One of the best stories i've ever read is " The count of Monte Cristo". The best I've ever read i would say.. It had every thing.....hope, justice, vengeance, mercy and forgiveness. The next best thing to me would be " The shawshank Redemption". Take anything, starting from the narrative to the story, to the performances and above everything the message.. " hope is a good thing ..the best of the things..and good things never die". It takes you through a roller coaster of emotions.. there are places where you curse the fate of andrew( and in turn God) and loose faith, like the scene where Andrew gets to know bout the real killer from the Kid and the warden calls the Kid for a chat where he asks if he's ready to testify the truth .. But then he's murdered. And then the scene where you think Andrew is gonna suicide and the very next scene it turns out that he's escaped..miraculously!!!. and the scene where red carves his name on the same wall of the place where Brooks committed suicide. Every bit of it touches your heart. I would even go ahead and say the this was the best ever Steven King creation. Hats off to Frank Darabont.

"Why do so many people like/love this movie? Why does it have wide appeal?"

The film speaks to a lot of people with its message of hope, perseverance and purpose in the face of life's struggles. These themes appeal to (and inspire) a wide array of people. The movies' themes are universal to human experience, though they are expressed allegorically in a prison setting that only a minority can truly empathize with. Director Darabont's ability to help viewers see through the prison setting to the deeper life-truths is a major attraction.

As with many films that gained legendary status as years went by, such as Blade Runner and Citizen Kane, audiences acquired their appreciation of it over time. Even though nominated for best picture (and beaten by Forrest Gump), Shawshank didn't do well with audiences during its theatrical release. It prospered only after being released on video.

how to stop "Message from Network" in XPERIA X2

I jst got myself a XPERIA X2 yesterday. Right after setup and installation, it started giving me this pop up messages- "Message from Network". Tried googling for a solution but was unable to find anything. I contacted the Xperia customer service and they were able to trouble shoot it. Here it goes:
- Goto Start>Settings>Personal>Phone
- The first tab you would see there is the sounds tab. Scroll across to the "Broadcast" tab
- Uncheck the "enable" checkbox under Broadcast channels and Click OK
- Bingo! this should stop the Network messages from popping up

Hope this helps!
